How to End a Relationship Essay

Ending a relationship with your partner is never an easy thing to do, but if one finds themselves unhappy in the relationship than the best thing to do would be to part ways. It is important to not force yourself to be in a relationship if you are no longer happy. Ending the relationship can be better in order to avoid further issues and heart ache. You owe it to yourself and your partner to call it quits if things aren’t working out. Ending a relationship can be difficult, but by utilizing these four essential steps; thinking things through, arrange to meet up in person, be honest, and being compassionate and understanding, you can assist the process for both you and your partner. First, make sure to think things through and decide if ending the relationship is what you really want to do. You will need to make sure to avoid impulsive actions that can lead you to hasty decisions that you will end up regretting. Make sure to give yourself time after a heated issue/argument in order to start thinking clearly. Once you feel more relaxed a list of pros and cons can be extremely helpful in assisting you through this difficult decision. While making your list, it is always important not to over think about the different scenarios and make sure to keep it simple. The list compiled should be used to help put things into perspective and allow a clear picture about the next phase that is needed. Second, give your partner the courtesy and respect of ending the relationship  with them in person. By being able to sit down face to face with your partner the communication of feelings and concerns/issues will become evident both in verbal tones and body gesture. If possible, avoid meeting up around special days; holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, because it would not be fair to ruin those days for them. It is also important to avoid locations that were of importance to both of you or overly crowded areas. Even though you already know how the end of your meeting will turn out, it is helpful to have a conversation to allow both persons the opportunity to release feelings. This might be the last time the two of you might be together so closure and honesty is needed for both of you to be able to move forward. Third, honesty is the most important foundation of any relationship, regardless of the state of the relationship. It is important for you to start the conversation and jump right into the reason for the meeting without beating around the bush. Be as honest, concise, and to the point as possible. Make sure to complete your full thought before allowing your partner the chance to speak. Create a positive, open environment in which you both feel at ease in saying anything that needs to be said in that moment. It is important at this step to list issues/concerns that you had with the relationship and this is where your pros/cons list can be useful. Make sure to be honest about the bad times, but also the good times as well. Choosing your words wisely will allow you to give constructive criticism on issues, being effective in getting your point across, and at the same time making sure to be gentle and considerate of your partner’s feelings. Ultimately, being compassionate and understanding will allow both of you to be helpful to each other to ease through the process of ending the relationship. Both of you will be experiencing hurt feelings, but in order to end things amicably you will want to do your best to be there for the other person in the moment. If needed, in the moment, be there to offer a shoulder to lean on for your partner. Guidelines regarding any further contact with each other should also be put in place so that it can assist with this new transition for your partner. Let them know that things will be okay and in due time they will see that the relationship had to turn out the  way it did for the benefit of both of you. At the end of a relationship you will have many emotions that will need to be dealt with in order to move forward. Knowing that the relationship has come to an end is only the start of the long process ahead. Allow yourself time to think about the relationship and whether it can be salvaged. When the relationship can no longer be fixed create a moment to speak to your partner in person. Going into that meeting you should be prepared to be honest and allow your partner to be honest with you as well. At the end of the relationship you and your partner might not be at the same point of the ending and it is important and helpful to assist them by being compassionate and understanding of their needs. By following these steps you can help transition through the end of the relationship and allow for growth that can assist both partners in their future relationships.

Child Nutrition Act of 1966 and Wic Analysis

Child Nutrition Act of 1966 and WIC Analysis a. How effective is the policy is in terms of solving the social problem. The Child Nutrition Act of 1966 has since formed and developed many programs beneath it to aid those in poverty. The five top producing programs under the Child Nutrition Act in fiscal year 2010 include the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the National School Lunch Program, and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), the Child and Adult Care Food Program, and the School Breakfast Program.WIC serves 45-50 % of all infants born in the United States (Facing Hunger in America, 2011, para. 3). According to Kowaleski-Jones & Duncan (2002), much of the research on the effects of WIC participation on children has focused on the potential benefits of increased use of prenatal care, increased Medicaid savings, better infant outcomes, and less infant mortality. In addition to the previously stated, WIC’s effecti veness can be supported by the perception of â€Å"WIC Works,† (Kowaleski-Jones, & Duncan, 2002).The observation that â€Å"WIC works,† is driven by the great deal of research for WIC partakers to birth healthier offspring (Kowaleski-Jones, & Duncan, 2002). For example, each dollar spent on WIC saved the state at least $1. 77 to $3. 13 in health care costs (Bitler, & Currie, 2004). According to Public Health Nurse Supervisor Luzette Samargia, of Duluth, Minnesota, WIC is effective and produces positive outcomes (Facing Hunger in America, 2011, para. 11).Luzette manages about 27 public health nurses and 3 dieticians, who as part of their jobs are highly trained to provide WIC health checks, breastfeeding encouragement, nutrition counseling for mothers and their young children, and appropriate WIC food vouchers (Facing Hunger in America, 2011, para. 7). According to Luzette: WIC has generally not been found to significantly change food patterns of participants or to redu ce the incidence of obesity. Thus, WIC programs are increasing their focus on nutrition education. And in 2009 the WIC nutrition advice and foods available with WIC vouchers were completely updated in accordance with current USDA guidelines. For example, WIC vouchers may now be used for fresh fruits and vegetables, more whole-grain products are required and only milk with 2 percent or lower fat content is authorized for women and children age 2 and older (Facing Hunger in America, 2011, para. 12). WIC’s goal is not to end poverty and solve all problems amongst it. WIC’s purpose is to aid those in need and supplement their nutritional prerequisites.Breastfeeding an infant is vital to a newborns development, yet not everyone has this knowledge. WIC does offer free infant formula to its participants but strongly encourages mothers to breastfeed. b. Describe the policy’s strengths and limitations Limitations involved when discussing WIC can be drawn to breastfeeding rates. Because WIC provides free infant formula, breastfeeding rates have been a hot topic amongst WIC participants. However, according to the National WIC Association breastfeeding rates have slightly risen in recent years. In the year 2004, approximately 55% of mother’s participating in WIC’s benefits were breastfeeding; in the year 2010 rates had increased to over 60% (National WIC Association [NWA], 2011). An additional limitation involved with WIC is of course funding (Mahoney, 2008). Each year Congress authorizes just how much of funding will be allotted for the WIC program (Mahoney, 2008, pg. 4) According to the USDA: They requested $6. 1 billion for the WIC Program for fiscal year 2009, a 1. 3% increase from fiscal year 2008.This request was based on projected increases in participation and food costs, and the USDA’s proposal to limit nutrition services, cut administrative costs, and to restrict eligibility for Medicaid recipients – a proposal reje cted by Congress for fiscal year 2008 (Mahoney, 2008, pg. 4). With inflation rates continually on the rise and because WIC is not an entitlement program, if funds are not available eligible participants at nutritional risk may not receive the supplemental nutrients as they have in the past (Mahoney, 2008, pg. 5).In contrast to limitations WIC also has much strength. In Indiana alone, according to the National WIC Association in the fiscal year of 2011 167,875 women, infants, and children participated (National WIC Association [NWA], 2013, pg. 1). WIC is preparing ways in which women can avoid the long lines, the stigma, and hassle when purchasing nutritious foods. Indiana is currently preparing plans in converting the WIC program to the Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) by 2020 (NWA, 2013, pg. 2) c. Who gains and who loses as a result of the policy? . Are there people in need who are left out? Who is left out? WIC serves a tightly-defined population – strictly low to moderate income, nutritionally at-risk pregnant women, breastfeeding women, non-breastfeeding postpartum women, infants, and children up to their fifth birthday (Facing Hunger in America, 2011). Participants of WIC’s family members may benefit from participation, yet if you were not mentioned previously you may be left out from receiving WIC benefits. e. Is the policy addressing only a portion of a larger issue? What is the larger issue? f. Does the policy improve social well-being? Explain in detail. g. Innovation and Business Development of Wrinkle Free Clothes

Question: Discuss about the Innovation and Business Development of Wrinkle Free Clothes. Answer: Innovation and development are integral to the growth of the business organizations. The innovation can drive the business upwards and ease the business operations of the organization. The innovation refers to the development of new products and services which brings ease to the lives of the people. It can also denote to innovative technologies which can ease the business operations of the organization. The innovation process of an organization can increase the profitability of the organization as the companies can launch innovative products in the market and exploit its benefits. The implementation of innovative technologies can also assist in the business operations which can increase the efficiency and overall productivity of the organization (Rainey, 2010). In this regard, the present report presents a business pitch to the management of the business organization regarding an innovative product. The innovation of wrinkle-free fabric has a huge potential. In the present fast lives of the people, no one has the time to iron their clothes. The innovation can ease the life of the customers and a large number of people will be attracted towards the product as ironing is tedious job. Introduction to the Business Issue In the 21st century, the lives of the people have become immensely busy. The people have immersed themselves in their professional lives and have little time for their personal chores. In this situation, ironing remains as a tedious chore. Ironing is difficult; however, wearing crumpled clothes is unprofessional. As a result, there is increasing popularity towards the development of wrinkle free clothes. However, up to present, there are several issues in the development of wrinkle-free clothes as hazardous chemicals are used for the manufacturing process. The hazardous substance like formaldehyde is used for the manufacturing process; however, if they are leaked into the environment they pose potential harm to the human health. Other chemicals are highly expensive or do not have the same anti-wrinkling properties. Recently, there are a number of researches which focuses on the use of nanotechnology for developing wrinkle-free clothes. It has immense market potential (Piperopoulos,20 12). Proposed Innovation It can be critiqued that the ironing is a tedious chore and the people need clothes which require less or minimal amount of ironing. There have been number of innovations which have assisted the individuals in their daily chores; however, ironing is a basic chore which is required to be done by every person. A person cannot wear wrinkled clothes to the professional lives as well as to the other spheres of lives. The wrinkle-free clothes will ease the life of individuals as they will require doing fewer efforts and spending less time in the ironing which will be beneficial for the customers. The innovation will use nanotechnology for the development of the wrinkle free clothes. Benefits of Innovation People will desire clothes which are wrinkle free and that there dresses remains as shaped by iron throughout the day. The wrinkle free clothes provide wrinkle free and soft look fabric. The wrinkle-free finishes are commonly used in the textile industry to impart wrinkle-resistance by implanting cellulosic material on cotton fabric. The wrinkle resistant finish on the materials improves the wrinkle resistant properties of the fabric. The increasing demand for the pure cotton fabric has also driven the wrinkle resistant fabrics. It is also a determining factor in the perceived quality of the fabric. In the present market, there are several types of products such as shirts, T-shirts and pants which need wrinkle-free fabric for increasing their quality factor (Clark, Osterwalder Pigneur, 2012). This factor is in in line with the changes in the lifestyle, consumer requirement and the growing awareness of the customers towards natural clothes. However, wrinkles diminish the perceived qu ality of the product. The wrinkles occur when the fabrics are compressed such as washing or wearing them for prolonged period. Developing clothes which a person can wear anytime or anyplace will increase the perceived quality of the clothes. The people will find application of the clothes in different settings such as travelling or adventure sports like hiking or swimming. The organization can develop wrinkle-free clothes and sell them to the garment manufacturing companies to obtain huge amount of profits. The organization can also make collaborations with large garment manufacturing companies to supply them with wrinkle-free clothes. Such collaborations will provide stability to the company and it will increase the profitability of the organization. The company needs to start the commercial production of these clothes and make negotiations with garment supply manufacturing companies in order to make it a viable successful business plan (Fields, J2013). Timeline In the above section, a business proposal has been provided for the commercial production of wrinkle-free clothes. In order to make the innovation as a viable business model, the company needs to take several steps. The company needs to develop a business plan, obtain investment from the potential investors and create a product prototype of the product. The company will also require licensing and intellectual property rights from the copyright holders so that it can work on the technology. It will also require buying infrastructure and hiring employees for the running successful operations. It also needs an attractive marketing strategy and distribution plan. The company needs to develop a timeline for starting the business. It is estimated that the business will need one year period for implementing the business and running successful operations. Action June, July, August September, October, November December, January, February March, April, May Approval of Business pitch Development of Product Prototype Budget approval Acquisition of clients Acquiring human resources Starting commercial production of the product Strategic Response Ranking of Strategic Options The strategic response of manufacturing facility can be used for the present case. In the present case, the organization can use the different business models. There are four types of business models namely, manufacturer, distributor, retailer and franchise business model. In the manufacturing business model, the business organization takes raw materials and create a product and assembles pre-made components to manufacture a product. The manufacturer can sell the products directly to the customers or outsource sales to another company. The distributors refers to any business that purchases the products directly from the manufacturing organization and resale it either to the public or the other retail outlets. The retailers refer to those organizations which directly sell the products to the public (Akdeniz, 2015). The retailers may have a physical presence or an online presence. The franchise can be either a manufacturer, distributor or a retail organization. The franchise is a type of license which a party acquires to have access to the businesss propriety knowledge, processes or trademark and allows the business to sell the product or service in the name of that business. Option 1 (Manufacturer) Option 2 (Distributor) Option 3 (Retailer) Option 4(franchisee) Benefits Signigficantly less competition due to high investment requiements, Intellectual property benefits from obtaining licenses of the invention Less capital requirements, Lower risk due to fluctuating customer requirements One of the major benefits is large number of customers. Therefore, low dependency on customers If the organization will take the franchisee of the organization, it can create positive brand image of the company Cost Initial set-up cost will be approximately 50,000 $ AUD Initial set-up cost will be approximately 30,000 $ AUD Initial set-up cost will be 20,000 $ AUD Initial cost of the set-up will be 20,000 $ AUD Time If the company will independently conduct research and development of the innovation, it will require long period of time (Cafferky, 2010) Low time requirements as the organization only needs to obtain distribution rights Low time requirement Low time requirement Risk High Low low medium Recommended Strategic Option From the analysis of the above options, it is recommended that the organization develops a manufacturing plant for designing the wrinkle-free fabric. Although the initial cost of setting up the plant will be higher, the organization will need to obtain higher benefits from the production process in terms of profitability. The cost of the production plant will involve the cost of raw materials, cost of setting infrastructure, cost of hiring employees and research and development process. Moreover, the acquisition of basic prototype of the product will require investment regarding the intellectual property rights. However, once the company obtains the intellectual property right, it can curb the competition in the marketplace. With appropriate marketing strategy, the company can attract a large number of customers. The total cost of establishing the new project is determined in the below section: Initial cost of setting up plant 50,000 $ AUD Rent, insurance, marketing, licensing Variable cost 10,000 $ AUD Equipment, technology and fabric Total Cost 60,000 $ AUD Project Option Analysis In the present case, it is determined that a manufacturing organization will be developed for selling the product. There are two ways of developing a business model, either the business attains the customer knowledge and make products accordingly or firstly, the organization make products and sell them to the customers. There are several steps in developing a manufacturing business. Firstly, the organization should select a product category and focus on it in the beginning. In garment business, there are several product categories such as knit garment or woven products; the company needs to choose a single product category for the. The next step is to gather production requirements (Forsyth, 2013). It is difficult to make estimation requirements in the beginning; however, a rough number is required in the beginning. Later, this figure can be modified according to the budget and customer demand. The management also has to determine the number of production machines and other equipment . It is based on the production figure and the product type (Soorjoo, 2012). The next major step in setting up a garment factory is to determine the type of machines which will be most suitable for the manufacturing process. In the market, there are a large number of machines available; however, it is important for the organization to select the best machine for the manufacturing process. In addition to sewing or weaving other machinery are also required. It encompasses pressing tables, cutting machineries, boilers, power back-up and furnishing. Delivery of Recommended Solution In the above section the best business model for the organization has been selected. Additionally, the company requires factory space. The management has to decide regarding the space required for the machinery, office space and setting departments for the production process. The recommended solution can be delivered after the determination of manpower requirement, internal process flow and listing the suppliers of the organization. The human resource or the manpower resource is one of the primary resources of the business. It includes determining the number of staff members, supervisors and the workers. The company also requires operators and helpers to run the operations smoothly. In order to run successful operations, the company needs to develop a detailed process flow of an order. With the help of this plan, the company can plan hiring of the people. It is also important that the organization start working on finding reliable suppliers for the fabric and other raw materials (Bor oss, 2011). Conclusion It can be concluded that the wrinkle-free shirts are innovative product and require a unique business model. In this regard, the present report has taken the business model of manufacturing organization. The company needs high initial investment for setting up the organization. The return on investment is high in manufacturing organizations. Moreover, the company can also curb competition by acquiring the intellectual property rights of the product. Speechs Atwood, Suu Kyi Essay Example

Speechs Atwood, Suu Kyi Essay Being a woman myself, the struggle of women to mould their own destiny and to influence the fate of our global village- as Aung San Suu Kyi explicitly describes it- is something I am very passionate about. I know to be true that we are incredibly lucky to have been around in the present time, in regards to objectively and retrospectively understanding the principles of Women and the change that has, and I am happy to report, will continue to take place. The empowering speech given by Suu Kyi, along with Margaret Atwoods light and entertaining take on the place of women, although both delivered over a decade ago, resonate with my personal beliefs and inspire me to appreciate in completely different contexts, my most natural state- womanhood. Spotty-Handed Villainesses as just stated, touches on the portrayal of women in forms of literature in a way I have never really seen- she makes a point of defying aspects- without condemning- the two previous waves of feminist views and ideals of portraying women in an angel-like way. Isnt bad behaviour supposed to be the monoploy of men? She rhetorically highlights the unrealistic expectation placed upon women by not only men, but women also, which Atwood notes is an ideal portrayed in literature across the board. The point is however, its the flawed female personas that we can recall, she alludes to Lady Macbeth and Ophelia, and rightfully- who can actually remember more of the latter? Atwood metaphorically refers to female bad characters as keys to doors we need to open, and as mirrors in which we can see more than just a pretty face. I really love this phrase, to me it illustrates something I see many young women today lacking- acceptance in themselves, a lack of positive empowerment and responsibility, and the foresee of possibilities- all in the context of being a woman. We dont need to portray Ophelia, or Jane Bennett, or Cinderella, or Sleeping Beauty, or Alice Cohen, in fact, anything else I recall other than their shared beauty is, well, limited. Women are not perfect in reality, therefore should not have negative connotations associated with them when they are flawed characters in literature. Aung San Suu Kyis addresses on women is far more formal in contrast to Atwoods, and when I consider her cicumstances, I immediately admire her for her bravery to conduct this speech, not to mention her many other feats of bravery and selflessness. This I feel before even reading her speech compells me to take careful note on her message, purely because of her admirable acheivements. Suu Kyi is a ridiculously inspiring woman, it is evident in this speech her desire for the world to progress towards peace, and she makes a huge point of the power of women in politics and governance. Suu Kyi notes that for many ages, women have dedicated themselves almost exclusively to the task of nutrutring, protecting and caring She recognises these basic womenly insticts and explicitly states that the empowerment of women throughout the world can not fail to result in a more caring, tolerant, just and peaceful life for all. This statement along with its justification stirs a shocking realisation within me- imagine if your mother, or grandmother, or aunt, or any other loving, nurturing and compassionate women you know held the positions of power in the world? I can only imagine! Suu Kyi discusses the concept of intollerace and its causation in demoting peace. She mentions male collegues appreciation for their wives, using a powerful contrasting simile to describe the women as t ender as a mother nutsing their newly born, brave as a lioness defending their young. She again makes a point of the effects these women could have in regards to the well-being of the world if they had the power to do so. Besides some male leaders intollerance of the peaceful power possessed by women, I personally can not imagine many male leaders who would actually be proud of a woman replacing them. This painful truth puts into perspective not only leaders of the past I can recall, but the power and authority possessors of today, the ones that shape mine- our- way of life. I suppose I have it incredibly lucky; for I live in a relatively female-liberated society. Women like Aung San Suu Kyi do not have the luxuries I take for granted, imagine, before even women having power, simply imagine if women like Suu Kyi had the power I do not even recognise. Women have gcome an incredibly long way by means of unimaginable selflessness, I feel it is up to us to now take their legacy into our potentially powerful grasp and continue the change. Margaret Atwood Aung San Sue Kyi have proven to me that there are different ways to speak out for a single cause you believe in, and I find myself enshrined with a new sense of empowerment from the valor of their own.
